Tom Gibson is the owner and director of the studio. A graduate of the prestigious Tonmeister course and Mentor for ‘The Songwriting Academy’, Tom has assisted and engineered for some of the top producers in Pop - Mark Hill (Artful Dodger, Craig David), Gareth Henderson (Birdy), Chris Neil (Celine Dion, Cher, Rod Stewart). 

After graduating, Tom worked as a freelance engineer, head engineer, in-house songwriter and studio repair tech on the South Coast for a number of years, as well as teaching on BTEC, A-level, and Degree courses for The Purcell School of Music and The Academy of Music & Sound.

Tom has a love for songwriting and spends a lot of time co-writing and producing tracks with up and coming professional songwriters. He also applies these skills when working as a producer with songwriters and artists to help them perfect their songs and realise their full potential. Working in a huge range of genres he has become known for creating radio-ready tracks, and also for being someone who is easy to work with creatively and a fountain of geeky tech knowledge.

In Blackhill, Tom created something Southampton's music scene was lacking; a professional recording studio with a comfortable relaxing atmosphere which gives honest, independent industry advice and enables artists to create their best work.
